First Year Induction Day
22nd November 2018
Settling into secondary school is an important time in the life of a student. At Castlepollard Community College, this transition is recognised with great importance. In line with the new Junior Cycle which is currently being implemented and with national research by the ESRI, the move from Primary School to Secondary School is of great importance and is central to the ethos of a first year programme. With that in mind, Castepollard Community College places huge emphasis on making that move as easy and as smooth as possible.
To help with this move, the college has and will continue to host special induction days for students who have enrolled in the college for next year. The day provides a basis for friendships to form, familiarity with the school and its resources and also room to meet our teachers before next September. Our most recent day was a huge success as students took part in a range of Scientific experiments led by Mr Heduan. The success of the day can be seen in the photos opposite.
